Julia D. Thomas
Owner & President
Julia began her title industry career in the 1990s working primarily as an escrow assistant and loan closer. Her ambition led her out of the office and to the courthouse where she learned the meticulous art of real estate title examining. She then decided to try her hand at entrepreneurship, establishing Athena Research, Inc. on August 8th of 2001. Her company now employs a team of dedicated professionals who perform accurate and comprehensive searches. She is a member of the National Association of Land Title Examiners and Abstractors (NALTEA). Julia has achieved the distinguished NCA, NALTEA Certified Abstractor Designation and currently serves on NALTEA’s Board of Directors.
Eric Schuring
Recording Division Manager
Eric began his title career in the late 1990s. He has boasting rights of being the first employee of Athena Research, Inc. Throughout the years, Eric has gained experience working in over 10 different Ohio counties. In his current position, he oversees recordings in five Ohio counties. Eric is precise and swift assuring clients a smooth, professional recording experience. Fun fact: While on the job, Eric walks more than 10k steps a day.
Steve Zavesky
Senior Title Abstractor
Steve has been active in the title industry since 2001. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. He applies his experience deciphering manufacturing blueprints to reading legal descriptions and maps. His familiarity with government specifications and contracts has proven a great asset in the legal aspects of title searching. He is an expert in master development searches for construction of new subdivisions, as well as residential searches for platted and unplatted lands. Steve’s track record is proven in commercial searches, such as shopping malls, manufacturing plants, airports, utilities, and public lands.
Henry Seuffert
Title Examiner
Henry has been active in the title industry since 2003, when he joined Athena Research, Inc. He is a conscientious, skilled abstractor and familiar with searching in multiple Ohio Counties. Henry produces a trustworthy product and is valued by the team and clients alike.
Jeffrey Jarvis
Title Examiner
Jeffrey started title searching in 1993. He has worked for a number of full-service title companies during his career doing everything at the county level from searching to filings. He has a keen eye for irregularities and seasoned knowledge about all things title. Jeffrey has been with Athena Research, Inc. since 2012.
Nicole Warlop
Title Examiner
Nicole entered the field in 2021. She has shown a swift aptitude to the title examination and research process. Nicole is trained in multiple counties and has proven to be a real asset to Athena Research, Inc. and our clients.
